In 1978, Kevin Conroy bought an old lobster co-op turned-market on the shores of Rowayton, CT. Today, that spark has grown into the Rowayton Seafood Family of Brands: The Restaurant, Market, Pearl the Oyster Boat, and The Bait Shop.

By land or by sea, we’re proud to celebrate five decades of coastal living and entertaining.

Kevin and his family are avid fishermen and can be found regularly returning to the docks from off shore fishing adventures, often involving some pretty huge catches that are then served directly at the restaurant.

Rowayton Seafood has partnered with the Monterey Bay Aquarium and the Seafood Watch Program in an effort to support healthy oceans and promote species regeneration.

Grace Conroy launched RS SUPPLY CO in the summer of 2025 – curating coastal essentials that capture the spirit of New England living.

PEARL The Oyster Boat is a restored 1946 vessel docked in front of the Market and Restaurant. Beautiful, confident and carefree, Pearl travels the New England coast under the warm sun bringing oysters and spirits to the people.

The Restaurant has been rated “Excellent” by Zagat, voted “Best Seafood” in 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 & 2012 by Darien, New Canaan and “Best seafood and outdoor dining” from Rowayton Magazine’s Best of the Gold Coast Awards and awarded “Best Seafood Restaurant” by Connecticut Magazine’s Fairfield County voters in 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011.

Most recently we were honored to receive “Best Seafood” in Yankee Magazine’s “Best of New England” issue.
